Matthew Wilhelm, DO Pain Medicine in Tampa, FL

Dr. Matthew Wilhelm is a fellowship trained interventional pain physician at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Wilhelm completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and a fellowship in Pain Medicine, both at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

As an interventional pain physician, Dr. Wilhelm supports the USF Spine Center and specializes in image guided injections to provide targeted pain relief, primarily for spinal conditions. His background in physiatry offers a unique view of the biomechanics of pain syndromes and how to best address the accompanying symptoms. He additionally focuses on targeted therapy prescriptions and medication management. Having authored chapters in published printed and online media for medical handbooks, and a passion for teaching future generations of physicians, he shares a love of learning and delights in maximally educating his patients. Dr. Wilhelm is an advocate for patient function and quality of life, stemming from his core training as a physiatrist and previously managing severe injuries in a rehabilitation setting.
