If I could rate the experience any more favorable , I surely would have.

I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Patel. He was hurried, dominating, not building rapport and spent 5 minutes. He stands up and doesn't sit down. That infers he is hurrying and rushed. There are chairs he could use and relax and be friendly. He is authoritarian in style. He doesn't use any visual aids to explain better anything. He doesn't review radiology films with the patient. I sensed the doctor was sending subtle signals that me and my prostate cancer was unimportant and I be better off going to another medical facility elsewhere in Tampa. Dr. Patel is very astute expert and has loads of experience and talents. I'm grateful he became my doctor. However, the last exam created worries and doubts going forward. I'm now reaching out for more information, support, and help from the Morsani Urology team.

The med student that talked to me before I saw the doctor was able to answer most of my questions. She relayed all of my questions to the doctor and he came in and answered questions she couldn't and confirmed the answers of questions she did answer. Great team effort!

Dr. Patel is amazing. First, he maintains a calming, laid back demeanor that makes it extremely easy to talk to him. He has a friendly, but direct style of communication that provides clear insight and clear information on the decisions to be made. He presents the possible courses of action, along with the pros and cons of each, allowing tha patient to make an educated choice, and he is supportive of the decision process. He then clarifies what the way ahead is and what are the potential problems. Once again, phenomenal doctor.

We need more doctors like Dr. Patel, and here Is why: He is thorough, knows the medical information regarding his patient before entering the room. He keeps me well informed by giving me a complete picture of what is going on within me. Communicating with a patient is extremely important, at least to me, and Dr. Patel does a great job communicating medical terms.
